Windsor, ON – Kevin Hamlin and his #3 ranked Windsor Lancers men's hockey team will host the McGill University Redmen on Friday, November 14th at 12:45pm at South Windsor Arena in a special mid-day community outreach event.

The Lancers, in partnership with the Windsor-Essex Catholic District School Board, will host a re-match of last year's Queen's Cup championship game in front of local students from around the region who'll be bused in specially for the game.

The event will support the team's "Lancers against Bullying" annual campaign geared towards Windsor-Essex students.

"We are thrilled to be able to host this unique event in partnership with the catholic school board," commented U of W Director of Athletics Mike Havey. "It will be a great chance for students from the region to see two of the top university hockey teams in the country compete while also promoting our "Lancers against Bullying" awareness program."

The unique start time and game scheduling came about following the year-long suspension of the University of Ottawa men's hockey program. As a result, McGill University is required to travel on the road that weekend for a pair of games in different cities. The Redmen will battle the University of Windsor Lancers on Friday afternoon and then to Thunder Bay to take on the Lakehead Thunderwolves on Saturday.

For the Lancers, Coach Hamlin's squad is off to their best ever start in program history as they are 11-0-0, in first place in the OUA West division and currently ranked #3 in Canada. Senior forward Spencer Pommells currently leads the nation in scoring with 26 points in eleven games.

"Our team is looking forward to hosting McGill again as part of this exciting outreach event," commented Coach Hamlin. "The opportunity to combine a great CIS hockey game with our "Lancers against Bullying" initiative is something all our players, coaches and support staff are excited about."
