Box Score The No. 1 Windsor Lancer women's basketball team defeated the Toronto Varsity Blues 94-65 on Friday night at the brand new Goldring Centre for High Performance Sport in Toronto.
With the win, the Lancers remain undefeated and improve to 3-0 on the season, while the Blues fall to 1-2.
The Lancers got out to a 13-2 lead, but the Blues rallied and brought the game within five (19-14) in the last minutes of the opening quarter. Windsor had a 23-14 advantage after the first 10 minutes.
The Lancers extended the gap throughout the second quarter and a final three pointer from
Carly Steer gave Windsor a 47-28 lead at halftime.
Toronto's Julie Longauer had eight points in the third quarter as the Blues made a run at the Lancers, but their deficit proved too great as Windsor earned their 24th consecutive regular season win.
The Lancers were led by a game-high 20 points and nine boards from fifth-year guard and Windsor native
Korissa Williams.
Jocelyn LaRocque added 15 points, while
Cheyanne Roger had 14 points and nine rebounds in the victory.
Windsor will cross the street tomorrow night and take on the Ryerson Rams at the Mattamy Athletic Centre at 6:00pm. The game can be seen live at
