No. 5 Lancers defeat Gryphons in home opener

Rotimi Osuntola Jr. had a game-high 17 points in the win over Guelph.
Box Score In their first home game of the season, the No. 5 Lancer men's basketball team defeated the visiting Guelph Gryphons 92-75 on Saturday afternoon at the St. Denis Centre.
 
Windsor remains undefeated on the season with a 2-0 and are in first place in the OUA west division, while the Gryphons fell to 0-2 and sit in fourth in the OUA central division.
 
The Lancers were led by Rotimi Osuntola Jr and Khalid Abdel-Gabar who each had a game high 17 points. Osuntola Jr. also had the games only double-double contributing 10 rebounds in the win.
 
Windsor jumped out to an early 22-8 lead after the first quarter en route to a 47-19 lead at the half.
 
Guelph came out strong in the second half battling the Blue & Gold point for point through the final two quarters but the Lancers held strong to earn the victory.
 
Alex Campbell finished the night with 14 points, while Mike Rocca chipped in 13 and Mitch Farrell had 12.
 
For the Gryphons, Taylor Boers and Daniel Dooley each had 15 points, while Trevor Thompson had 14 and Jack Beatty had 12.
 
Windsor will travel to Toronto next weekend when they play the Toronto Varsity Blues on Friday November 14th and the Ryerson Rams on Saturday the 15th. Both games are slated for 8:00pm.
