The next step in a march towards a fourth CIS women's title for the No. 1 Lancers is this Saturday when they host the Laurier Golden Hawks in the OUA west division final at the St. Denis Centre at 7:00pm.
The Golden Hawks edged Brock 62-57 in the first round of the playoffs and then knocked off Western 53-43 in the West semifinal where they held fifth-year Mustangs' guard Jenny Vaughan to five points on two-of-12 shooting.
"Western is one of the most offensively gifted teams and Jenny Vaughan averages 22 points a game so to go into the playoff and hold Vaughan to five points and the team to 43 is pretty tough," coach Chantal Vallee said.
"I think they'll focus on trying to find ways to stop us. They'll try to keep the game to a low score. It will be a battle of wills. We have to make sure we dictate what we want to do on offence."
The Lancers posted double-digit wins in both regular season meetings with Laurier.
The winner of Saturday's east division final between Carleton and Queen's will travel to the West winner for the OUA final March 8th.
Tickets are $12 for Adults and $10 for youth and seniors, with the doors opening at 6:00pm. If you can't make it down to the St. Denis Centre, catch the game LIVE on TVCogeco Cable 11 at 7:00pm, or online at
