No. 1 Lancers top Hawks for OUA West crown

Box Score WINDSOR, Ont.- The Windsor Lancers women's basketball team will have an opportunity to claim a second consecutive OUA championship after earning an 86-58 victory over the Laurier Golden Hawks in the West division finals on Saturday evening at the St. Denis Centre.

The Lancers will meet Queen's in the OUA Final next Saturday evening at the St. Denis Centre after the Gaels needed overtime to defeat the Carleton Ravens 62-58 in the East final. The Golden Hawks will take on the Ravens in the OUA bronze medal match which takes place next weekend to determine the OUA's final berth in the CIS Final 8 at the University of Windsor.

Miah-Marie Langlois led all players with a game-high 24 points to go along with seven steals, five rebounds and five assists. Korissa Williams added 22 points, six rebounds, four assists and five steals for the Lancers, while Jessica Clemencon rounded out the big-three's contributions with a double-double including 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Rookie Cheyanne Roger had a breakout playoff performance, going a perfect 10-of-10 from the field for 20 points while adding seven rebounds for Windsor. Whitney Ellenor led the Golden Hawks with 18 points, shooting 8-of-14 from the field.

Windsor shot an impressive 52.3% from the floor compared to 36.2% from the visitors. The Lancers also outrebounded Laurier 45-27 and claimed 25 points off of the Golden Hawks 19 turnovers.

The Lancers improve their CIS post-season win-streak to 13 games dating back to the 2011-12 season.

Windsor will host Queen's for the OUA banner next Saturday with tip-off set for 7:00 p.m. The contest will be available live online at GoLancers.TV.
