The Lancer women's soccer team lost their third straight game Sunday with a 2-1 loss to the McMaster Marauders at Alumni Field.
Â
Windsor is now 4-7-0 on the season while the Marauders are 3-5-3 and tied with the Lancers for the final playoff spot in the west division.
Â
After a scoreless first half, McMaster's Taylor Lambert scored just thirty seconds into the half off a deflection from Lancer goaltender
Krystin Lawrence.
Â
The Lancers got on the board in the 73rd minute when rookie
Paiten Stephens headed the ball into the back of the net off of a free kick from
Becca Fuerth.
Â
With time winding down, the visiting Marauders managed to get a shot off inside the 18-yard box that found the back of the net to give them the win.
Â
Windsor will now host the Guelph Gryphons and Brock Badgers on Thanksgiving weekend. The Lancers will face off on Friday night at 8:15pm, while the Badgers will come to town on Saturday afternoon at 1:00pm at Alumni Field. Â
