Waterloo, ON – The No. 1 ranked Lancer women's basketball team closed out the regular season with a 77-68 win over the Laurier Golden Hawks on Saturday afternoon on the road.

With the victory, the Lancers finished the regular season with a 19-1 record and in first place in the OUA.

The Lancers will host the OUA quarter-finals next Saturday, February 28th, at 6:00pm at the St. Denis Centre. Their opponent will be determined on Wednesday night after the OUA first round is played out.

Korissa Williams had a monstrous first quarter putting up 14 points to help the Lancers build a 30-16 lead after the first ten minutes of play.

Windsor continued their strong play into the second quarter and held a 36-18 lead before the Golden Hawks came storming back with a 16-6 run to close the gap heading into the half. Windsor led 42-34 at the break.

Laurier opened the second half with a 6-0 run to bring the score within two, and that is where is remained for a majority of the second half as the two teams battled evenly and traded points well into the fourth quarter.

Williams and
Cheyanne Roger had outstanding games for the Blue & Gold, with Williams putting up the games only double-double with 28 points and 13 rebounds, while Roger contributed 25 points and 8 rebounds in the win.
Emily Prevost had another solid game for the Lancers chipping in 10 points off the bench.

The Golden Hawks had four players hit double-digits and were led by Whitney Ellenor with 18 points.
