The Lancer women's basketball team continued their strong play through the weekend as they dominated the visiting Algoma Thunderbirds 91-47 at the St. Denis Centre on Saturday night.
With the victory, the Lancers move to 7-3 and have sole possession of first place in the OUA west division standings, while the Thunderbirds continue to look for their first win of the year.
Windsor controlled the game from the opening tip and secured the win after the first quarter, outscoring their opponents 26-6 in the first ten minutes. The Thunderbirds found their grove midway through the second and were able to sustain it throughout the game, but the five-time champs proved to be too much for the young Algoma squad.
Once again the Lancers were led by
Cheyanne Roger, who had a game high 15 points, while
Andrea Kiss and Chout Angou both came off the bench to contribute 11 each. Algoma was led by Karissa Kajorinne with 12 points.
The Lancers will take to the road on Wednesday when they travel to Hamilton and face the McMaster Marauders at 6:00pm. The game can be seen LIVE on
