The Lancer women's hockey team fell 5-4 to the host Brock Badgers on Sunday afternoon in St. Catharine's.

The loss moves the Lancers to 4-1-9-1 on the season as they head into a pair of home games this coming weekend.

Windsor jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the opening seven minutes of the first period with goals coming from
Shawna Lesperance and
Natalie Barrette,

The Badgers answered with three straight goals in the final eight minutes of the opening period to take a 3-2 lead after 20 minutes. Scoring in the first for Brock were Laura Neu, Kimberly Brown with a powerplay marker and Brittany Gillmor with one second left on the clock.

Windsor's Lesperance would add her 11th goal of the season with 7:13 left in the second period to tie it 3-3 after 40 minutes.

Just a minute into the third period, the Lancers regained the lead as
Erinn Noseworthy beat Brock starter Stephanie Loukes for her sixth of the campaign.

Brock's Sophie Herbert evened the game 4-4 at 8:24 of the third period with Christina Ieradi and Kailey Peirson adding the assists. With 5:45 left in regulation, Amanda Ieradi and Neu setup Brown for her second goal of the game and the eventual game winner.

In goal, Hannah Slater and
Ingrid Sandven combined for 18 saves in the loss while Loukes recorded 28 saves for the victory.Â
Windsor will now host the Nipissing Lakers on Friday night at 7:30pm and the Laurentian Voyageurs on Saturday at 4:00pm at South Windsor Arena.Â
