Friday vs Queen's
The game opened strong for the Gaels as they took the first three points of the game. Queen's then found a spot in the middle of the court and started tipping the ball short into the middle where the Lancers were unable to pick up the ball. The final score of the first set was 25-11 for Queen's.
The second set opened up with four straight points for the Lancers, trying to get back into the match against the Gaels. The entire set was extremely scrappy with a lot of scrambling for the ball on both sides. Although the game was closer in the second the Gaels were able to pull out a win and take the game 25-18.
The third and final set opened up with a score of 1-1, similar to the score for the rest of the game. The Lancers stepped up their enthusiasm which was evident being able to stay neck and neck with the Gaels. At a score of 16-13 Gaels, the Lancers closed the biggest gap of the set between with four straight points. With the Lancers holding a one point lead, a big kill from the Gaels gave the hosts control of the game to win the set from there. The final score was 25-21 Queen's.Â
