The Lancer men's hockey team kept their playoff dreams alive with a convincing 5-2 victory over the Guelph Gryphons in game two of the first round of the OUA playoffs on Saturday night at South Windsor Arena.

With the win, the Lancers tied the best-of-three series at one game apiece to force a deciding game three on Sunday night in Guelph. Â

The Lancers got on the board early at 3:30 of the first with a goal by
Kyle Hope, assists being credited to
Dylan Denomme and
Sebastian Beauregard.
Â
The Gryphons answered quickly just over a minute later on a goal scored by Cody Thompson that deflected by Lancer goaltender
Michael Doan.

Later in the first the Lancers retook the lead on a goal from
Tyson Ness who squeaked it through the five hole of Guelph goaltender Andrew D'Agostini. Windsor led 2-1 heading into first intermission.

Although the Lancers had plenty of scoring opportunities in the second period, the score remain unchanged until early in the third period when
Dylan Seguin came streaking down the wing and slid the puck into the net to give the Lancers a 3-1 lead.

The Gryphons would once again respond, this time with some tick-tack-toe passing finished off by Scott Simmonds to make it a 3-2 game with 13 minutes still to play.

As the game got heated, the Lancers responded with a pair of goals from
Sebastian Beauregard and
Chris Scott to secure the win.
