The Windsor Lancers are pleased to have two members of the men's basketball program honoured by the OUA after standout performances during the 2015-16 regular season.
In his final season with the Lancers, fifth-year guard
Alex Campbell is an OUA all-star for the first time in his career. The visual arts major has been named to the first-team after averaging 21.5 points per game to sit fifth in the conference. The Brampton, Ontario native also finished the season with 6.6 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game.Â
Campbell's terrific season has continued into the playoffs as he turned in two incredible performances to lead his Lancer squad to the Wilson Cup OUA Final Four this coming weekend. Last week against Laurentian in the opening round of the playoffs, Campbell went off for a game-high 37 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and four steals in 38 minutes of action. He followed that up with a tremendous 33-point performance in Windsors' big 79-78 playoff win on the road against McMaster. His playoff performances resulted in him being named this week's OUA Athlete of the week.
Â
For the first time since the 1995-96 season, the Windsor Lancers roster features the OUA Rookie of the Year as freshman guard
Isiah Osborne earns the honours following his first season in the league.
Â
Appearing in all 20 games for his hometown Lancers this season, Osborne finished in the top 20 in league scoring, averaging 15.0 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 2015-16. The human kinetics major announced his arrival earlier this season when he had 23 points, eight rebounds and three steals on the road against the then No. 4 ranked Badgers.
Â
Osborne, who has also been selected to the conference all-rookie team, becomes just the second Lancers player in program history to win the award and first since Geoff Stead won the award in 1995-96.
