The Lancer men's basketball team split a weekend road trip with the Algoma Thunderbirds in Sault Ste. Marie, ON.Â
Windsor came away with a dominating 89-47 win on Friday night before dropping a tight 79-78 decision on Saturday. The split leaves the Blue & Gold with an 8-6 and one game ahead of Laurier for first place in the OUA west division.Â
On Friday night,
Mike Rocca led all scorers with 22 points while
Lucas Orlita came off the bench to contribute 17 points in the victory.
Micqueel Martin also hit double digits, finishing the night with 12 points.

On Saturday Algoma came out strong building a 50-36 at the half. The Lancers battled back outscoring the hosts 42-29 in the second half but it was not enough to secure the win.Â
Mitch Farrell led the way with 23 points while Rocca chipped in 17 points, and
Micqueel Martin also hit double digits with 15 points.Â
Windsor will now host the No. 1 Carleton Ravens on Friday night at the St. Denis Centre. Tip-off is scheduled for 8:00pm.Â
