The Lancer women's volleyball team lost a pair of road matches this past weekend on the road.

Windsor fell 3-2 (25-23, 12-25, 25-20, 14-25, 11-15) to the Brock Badgers and 3-1 (14-25, 16-25, 25-21, 21-25) to the McMaster Marauders. The losses move the Blue & Gold to 3-7 on the season as they are now tied for fifth place in the OUA west division.

SATURDAY vs Brock
Lexi Pollard finished the game with 11 points on 8 kills and three digs, while
Erin Epema finished the game with 10.5 points on 8 kills and 12 digs.

Defensively,
Carleigh Bailey led the way with 30 kills.

SUNDAY vs McMaster
After trailing two sets to none, Windsor showed some resilience in the third, where the visitors played neck-and-neck into the technical timeout.

Leading by two at the break, the Lancers edged forward 16-14 after a double block from the combination of
Kirsten Aasen and
Melissa Smyth. The visitors kept their wits about them at the finish line, sealing the set when
Melissa Smyth punished a Marauder overpass for 25-21.

Windsor was unable to sustain that momentum into the fourth set as the host Marauders took the game with a score of 25-21.

Melissa Smyth led the Lancers with 11 points each.

The Lancers will now host the Marauders on Saturday January 28th on Breast Cancer Awareness Day at 1:00pm. In its 10th year, the department of athletics is asking all fans to break out their old Breast Cancer t-shirts to show off the different logos from years past.
