The Windsor Lancers women's basketball team rolled into Kingston looking to stay in the win column after beating the Ottawa Gee Gees last weekend. Unfortunately, the Lancers just couldn't figure out a stingy Queen's Gaels defense and fell 71-51.

Â
Windsor's offense was held to 30 per cent shooting on the day. Queen's shot nearly 50 per cent hitting on 47 per cent of their looks.
Â
GAME FLOW
In the first half the Queen's defense was stifling, bogging down the Lancers offense. The Lancers did not make anything easy on themselves either, missing 75 per cent of their free throws in the early half of the game. Alarie fuelled the Gaels offense, scoring 13 points for Queen's in the first half. As for the Lancers they had trouble scoring with Kaylee Anagnastopolous and
Emily Prevost being the only two Lancers to score multiple field goals in the first half. The Lancers went into the half down 38-24.
Â
In the second half, Windsor would come out of the gate in better fashion, hitting on 41 per cent of their shots and closing the gap to seven heading into the fourth quarter. Unfortunately for the Blue and Gold, the Queen's defense tightened up in clutch time. Over the final quarter of play the Queen's defense allowed a field goal on an absurd 15 per cent of shots. The Lancers with their offensive woes were never quite in the game as they fell in Kingston 71-51Â
