The Windsor Lancers men's basketball team welcomed the No. 7 Ryerson Rams to the St. Denis Centre Friday night. The game started with a sluggish pace and defensive feel and Windsor was never able to string together good possessions and eventually found themselves on the wrong end of an 81-68 final score.
Â
The Lancers are now 1-1 heading into tomorrow afternoon's contest against the Toronto Varsity Blues, while the Rams improve to 2-0.

Â
GAME FLOW
Both the Rams and the Lancers both came out of the gates a little sloppy, with missed shots and missed opportunities being a common occurrence. As the first half progressed, Ryerson was slowly able to establish some command on the floor.  The Rams defence held the Lancers to 31 per cent shooting and turned the ball over 10 times. The Lancers' lack of consistent offence led to a 10-point deficit at halftime, 42-32.
Â
In the second half it would be a lot the same. The Lancers did a little better to hold on to the ball with only five second half turnovers, however their inability to find consistent offence was still rearing its ugly head. The Lancers despite their struggle did play their way back into the game late. With under five minutes remaining, the Lancers battled back to within five points, however, the comeback would never get much closer than that as Ryerson was able to pull away late to win 81-68.
