Game Recap: Women's Hockey |

Women's Hockey can't solve Guelph & Waterloo

The Lancer women's hockey team is still searching for their first win of the season following a pair of losses to the Guelph Gryphons and Waterloo Warriors on the road.

The Lancers fell 2-1 on Friday night to Guelph before being shut out by the Warriors 4-0 on Saturday afternoon in Waterloo.

Against Guelph, Windsor led 1-0 after forty minutes on a Sydney Dobbin goal in the second period. However, the two-time defending McCaw Cup champions rallied in the third with a pair of goals to earn the victory.

Katherine Bailey fired a shot from the point that made its way through traffic and in behind goaltender Molly Jenkins at 12:58 of the final frame. Less than two minute later, Kelly Gribbons accepted a pass across the crease that she popped behind Jenkins to earn the win.

In Waterloo Saturday, the Lancers applied continuous pressure on Waterloo goaltender Stephanie Sluys, who turned aside all 28 of the Lancers shots.

The Lancers will now break until next Friday night when they host the UOIT Ridgebacks at 7:30pm on Friday, November 10th at South Windsor Arena.
