Lancers fall to McGill in OUA Bronze medal match

The Lancer men's hockey team fell 6-3 to the McGill Redmen in the OUA bronze medal game Friday night in Montreal.

With the loss, the Lancers season comes to an end while the Redman advance to the national championships with the conference's third berth.
 
McGill's Patrick Delisle-Houde opened the scoring at 5:31 of the first, assisted by Talbot-Tassi and Guillaume Gauthier. Tardif-Richard doubled the hosts the advantage at 14:38, giving the Redmen a 2-0 lead into the intermission.
 
Scott Prier put the Lancers on the board with a power-play marker at 8:42 of the middle frame. But Simon Tardif-Richard then netted his second of the contest on the power play at 13:27. Jerome Verrier potted another with a man-advantage just 108 seconds after that. Chris Scott responded 52 seconds later for Windsor to narrow the gap to 4-2.
 
Kyle Hope brought the Lancers within one at 5:41 of the final stanza, but the Redmen maintained their composure. Talbot-Tassi scored a power-play goal at 9:22. Then Tardif-Richard completed his hat trick at 10:41.
 
Blake Richard made 33 saves in net for the Lancers while his McGill counterpart Jacob Gervais-Chouinard turned away 22 shots.
