Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Women's Soccer brings home one point

Windsor earned one point following a weekend road trip to Waterloo. The Lancers drew a 1-1 tie against the Laurier Golden Hawks on Saturday before falling 1-0 to the Waterloo Warriors on Sunday afternoon.

The weekend leaves the Lancers with a 3-2-4 record, good for third place in the OUA West division.

SATURDAY VS LAURIER
With just a couple points separating the two sides coming into Saturday's match, many expected a closely contested affair. The opening half did not disappoint as Windsor and Laurier looking evenly matched from the off.

The Hawks controlled much of the possession early on. However, they were not able to convert that time with the ball into quality opportunities, with many offensive attempts being thwarted around the edge of the 18-yard box.

The Lancers were not having that same difficulty, proving to be opportunistic as Jade Samping got the visitors out to an early lead.

In the second half, the hosts constantly pushed the ball up field and firing away on Lancer keeper Krissy Brooks, outshooting Windsor 13-2.

The Hawks' Mackenzie D'Andrade blasted one from around the six-yard box for her third goal of the year to tie the game at one.

SUNDAY VS WATERLOO
On Sunday, Waterloo's Ciara Dunne put the Warriors up 1-0 in the 42nd minute. Warrior goaltender Madison McDonald blanked the Lancer offense in the second half; blocking fives Lancer shots to help give the hosts the win.

UP NEXT
Windsor returns homes next weekend for a pair of matches against the McMaster Marauders and Brock Badgers on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. Both games kick off at 1:00pm at Alumni Field.
