GAME FLOW
Larissa Borowiec got things going early on when she beat Aurore Beaulieu at the 4:11 mark of the first period on a power play opportunity with help from
Meredith Goldhawk. Shortly after Sydney Davison scored with 13:00 left in the first period on a power play. Davison found the net nearly seven minutes later to put the Gryphons up 2-1 midway through the first. Unfortunately for the trailing Lancers the Guelph offense was only getting started. Karli Shell scored for Guelph a minute after Davison, a minute after that one; Sydney Davison recorded a hat trick in the first quarter of the game with her third goal to put the Lancers down 4-1 before the first intermission. Luckily just before the break, Reagan Kauffman was able to stop the bleeding for the Lancers with a goal assited by
Sydney Dobbin and
Amy Maitre.
Â
To start the second, Kauffman scored again to bring the game to within one goal after it looked as though Windsor may get run off the ice. The Lancers pitched a shutout in the second fame to enter the final 20 minutes down just one goal. Much to the Lancers dismay however, Sydney Davison was not done scoring as she added some insurance to the Gryphon lead. Despite scoring first the Lancers fell to the Gryphons, 6-3.
