Box Score The Lancer women's basketball team came from behind to defeat the Brock Badgers 72-63 Saturday night at the St. Denis Centre.

Heading into the game the Lancers were just two games up on the Badgers and now sit a bit more comfortably in the OUA west division in third place.

GAME STATS
The Lancers were led by
Samantha Gucciardi and her 17 points. Brock's Melissa Tatti had the best night on offense with 28 points to lead all scorers.

Gucciardi and Eve Ewayesu led the Lancers with nine rebounds each. Brock was led by Courtney McPherson with nine.

The Lancers more than doubled the Badgers' assist total, out-passing the Badgers 15-7.

GAME FLOW
The Lancers jumped on the Badgers out of the gates, going up 7-0 in the first five minutes of the game. The Badgers closed ranks defensively and shut the Lancers down while they got back into the game. Windsor went into the second up by just one, 10-9. The second quarter the game remained equally as close, with the Badgers up this time by one, 29-28.

In the third, the Badgers extended their lead to as big as 12. The Lancers offense struggled coming out of the half and Brock capitalized on it, creating the double digit cushion just five minutes into the quarter. The Lancers went with size inside to change things up and it worked out as the blue and gold finished that quarter on a run to bring the game back to single digits, 52-49.

In the fourth quarter the Lancers continued their ascent back into the game, taking the lead on an
Eve Uwayesu three pointer. Once the Lancers got their lead they hardly looked back, picking up an important home win, 72-63.
