The Windsor Lancers were back on their home court for their second matchup against the Lakehead Thunderwolves in as many days. After a commanding 3-0 win Saturday the Lancers were looking to make it two in a row on the weekend and get themselves back into the thick of the playoff race.
The Lancers jumped out of the gate and never looked back, winning the match in dominating fashion, 3-0 (25-17, 25-10, 25-19).

GAME FLOW
The Lancers started the first set in a slow fashion but a well placed ball from
Paige Phills sparked the Lancers into action and they quickly went on a 6-0 run to force the Thunderwolves into a timeout early in the set. Coming out the timeout the Thunderwolves ran into more problems, mainly
Lexi Pollard and
Ally Winik blocking any kill attempts, and forcing Lakehead into a second timeout down 11-2. The second timeout had its desired effect as the Thunderwolves began producing more consistent offense. The offense led to closer score, but the result of the set was never in doubt as the Lancers took the set 25-17 to go up 1-0.
Winik helped Windsor to an early lead in the second set, with some help from Lakehead violations, the Lancers jumped out to an early 9-3 lead forcing the Thunderwolves into another early timeout. Lakehead sputtered out of the timeout, giving up three straight points and forcing the visitors to take another timeout to figure things out down 12-3. The Thunderwolves continued to struggle and the Lancers kept up their solid defense throughout the set for a commanding 25-10 win to go up 2-0 over Lakehead.
The Windsor got off to a slower start in the third set. The Thunderwolves came out playing some more creative offense. The Lancers played themselves back into an early lead but struggled to pull away as in previous sets. Eventually, led by Winik, the Lancers forced the Thunderwolves into a timeout leading 12-6. Out of the timeout the Lancers went on the offensive, leading 16-7 at the technical timeout, looking to close the match out. The break gave the Thunderwolves a boost, unfortunately for the Thunderwolves it didn't last long as they had to call another timeout down 19-11. Coming out of the timeout the Lancers got the job done, besting the Thunderwolves 25-19 to take the match 3-0.
