Game Recap: Men's Hockey |

Windsor splits weekend series with Ontario Tech

The Lancer men's hockey team rebounded on Saturday afternoon to defeat the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks 4-1 in Oshawa, ON.

With the win, the Lancers split the weekend series with the Ridgebacks and sit in second place in the OUA west division with an 8-2-0-1 record.

GAME FLOW
Windsor was determined to avoid a repeat of the Friday night game the two teams played where the hosts came out on top. The afternoon tilt was a much more defensive conscious game, as the Lancers jumped out to the 1-0 lead within the first 10 minutes with a goal from Ian Parker and were content with lock down defence after that.

Much like Friday night, both teams allowed emotions to run high late in the second period, as the final frame began four-on-four. The Ridgebacks weren't deterred from the Lancers defensive style, maintaining a strong push for the tying goal. The home side evened the score just before the eight-minute mark of the third, but the Lancers showed why they are a top team in the OUA retaking the lead just over two minutes later with a goal from Anthony Salinitri.

Sean Olson and Alex Friesen added two insurance markers late in the period to secure the victory for the blue and gold.
