After a tight game saw the Lancers women's basketball team tied with the Brock Badgers after four quarters, the blue and gold secured the win in overtime 71-66, stretching their current win streak to six games.

The win strengthens their third-place position in the OUA West, putting them eight points ahead of the Badgers who currently trail them in fourth.

Eve Owayesu led the game with 20 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists. On the other side of the court, Courtney McPherson led the Badgers with 14 points and 14 assists.

Carly Steer and
Olivia Osamusali also played key roles in the Lancer's game. Steer scored 17 points, while Osamusali contributed 14 of her own along with 14 rebounds.

The Lancers had a shooting percentage of 40.6 percent, while the badgers hit 31.1 percent of their shots.

Both teams started the game slow, struggling to make their shots from the field. However finding their rhythm towards the end of the first quarter, they began to trade points right up to the end of the half.

The Badgers came out for the third quarter hot, as they began to see success from the field. The game began to get away from the Lancers after giving up 22 points in the quarter, and trailing by 12 points.

However the blue and gold both their defensive and offensive legs in the fourth frame, as they controlled both ends of the court.

Everything seemed to be hitting for the Lancers, as they went on a 14 point run, with Steer playing a big role with two baskets from beyond the arc.

The Badgers managed to battle their way back to tie the game 61-61, at the end of regulation.

However the blue and gold were in control, and continued their performance to take the game 71-66.
