Game Recap: Football |

Windsor falls to McMaster in Hamilton

The Lancers were defeated 47-19 in their second road game in as many weeks on Saturday afternoon in Hamilton.

Coming off a tough loss to the Gaels last week, the Lancers had their work cut out for them heading to McMaster, and the Marauders were ready for the Lancers, scoring early and often as they came away with the win.

GAME STATS
Sam Girard had a good day for the blue and gold, completing 26 of 36 passes for 298 yards and one touchdown. Andreas Duek led the way through the air for McMaster, going 21 of 33 for 389 yards and three touchdowns.

Windsor's Carson Ouellette was the game's leading receiver with 11 catches for 127 yards and a touchdown, while Tommy Nield was the leading catcher for the Marauders with seven catches for 127 yards.

Ouellette also had a great day returning the ball, with three punt returns for 111 yards and a  touchdown. Mitch Garland was the leading punt returner for McMaster with three returns for 24 yards.

GAME FLOW
After a two and out for the Lancers to start the game, the Marauders took their opening drive and marched it down the field for a touchdown early. Dueck found Justice Allin from 29 yards out to put the Marauders up 7-0.  Windsor continued to struggle on offense and after another short drive, the surging McMaster offense found their way into the end zone again. Duek found Xander Tachinski from 16 yards out to double the lead for the hosts. The McMaster offense was hot for the entire first half, with Dueck approaching 300 yards at halftime, with a 27-3 lead at the break to show for it.

The Lancers tough day continued in the second half as the Marauders added to their lead right as the third quarter came to an end with Jordan Lyons finding pay dirt on a two yard scamper. Later, the Lancers were finally able to get a major score with an electrifying 99 yard punt return touchdown for Carson Ouellette. After a long field goal drive by the Marauders, Ouellette scored again, this time on a seven yard touchdown pass from Sam Girard. Unfortunately for the blue and gold the explosive plays were too little, too late as the Marauders handled the Lancers, 47-19.
