The Windsor Lancers men's hockey team dropped a 5-2 road game to the No. 3 University of Toronto Varsity Blues Friday night. The Lancers held the lead after the first period, but three goals allowed in the second half put the Lancers in trouble. The loss slides the Lancers to 12-9 on the season and fourth in the OUA West.

GAME STATS
Jonathan Reinhart had a solid outing in net, stopping 34 of 39 shots on goal. Toronto's Alex Bishop was great, making 40 of 42 stops.
Â
The Lacers outshot the Blues 34-24 in the final two periods.

GAME FLOW
It was the Blues hitting first and scoring on home ice when Kyle Potts put one past Reinhart just past the midway point of the first. The Lancers answered fast though, and
Brennan Feasey was the beneficiary of
Alex Friesen finding him on a 2-on-1 to beat Bishop to tie the game at one. Later with just 25 seconds left in the period,
Connor Logan scored unassisted to put the Lancers up 2-1 heading into intermission.
Â
The second period was all blue and no gold as Toronto tied the game up not even two minutes into the frame when Nathan Hudgin beat Reinhart. Despite the Lancers outshooting the Blues in the frame, it was Toronto scoring the goals. Chase Olsen scored shortly before the halfway mark of the period and Joey Manchurek scored on a powerplay to put the Varsity Blues up 3-2 with 4:55 left in the period. At intermission the Lancers needed an answer, trailing 4-2.
Â
The blue and gold again outshot their opponents in the final frame, desperate for a goal. Even the Blues opening the period with two penalties didn't help the Lancers cure their suddenly stymied offence. Unfortunately for Windsor the Blues had far less trouble scoring, as Kyle Clark made it a three-point game just 4:35 into the period. Despite the time on the clock, the Lancers couldn't muster the offence, falling 5-2.
