GAME FLOW
Things got off to a great start for the Lancers in the first quarter as they made four threes in the frame and shot 64 per cent from the field.
Telloy Simon was a welcome sight after missing the first three games of 2020, hitting two early threes and pacing the Lancers offense the entire first half. After a tightly contested first quarter, the Warriors remained competitive in the second as well, not giving the Lancers an inch of separation. Despite never trailing, the Lancers were locked in a battle at halftime, up 43-42 over Waterloo.
Â
After a slow second quarter, the Lancers came out of the break playing at a fiery and efficient pace. Led by the backcourt duo of Simon and Pryce, the Lancers conducted their offense to the tune of 70 per cent from the field and 2-2 from deep in the third. Despite the white hot offense, the Warriors were still hot on the Lancers tail, trailing by just 74-69 heading into the final frame. The Lancers blew the game open late with a pair of rim rattling dunks by
Thomas Kennedy and Jordan Fullerton, finishing the game off strong on route to a 102-90 win.

QUOTE FROM THE COACH
"That's
Jake Polski," said
Chris Cheng shortly after dousing his leading scorer in water during an interview. "I had a meeting with Jake the other day and I said if he didn't start trying I wasn't going to play him. He earned this tonight."
