GAME FLOW
The blue and gold came out strong and played a tight first period. The Lancers managed seven shots on net but couldn't convert any into goals, courtesy of Murphy. Murphy's effort paid off for the Badgers late in the period as Avery Vickers put the puck past Spooner to make it 1-0 heading into the break for the Badgers.
Â
The second period was scoreless as both goalies tried to give their team the advantage. Even throughout most of the third period the game remained close at 1-0 with both goalies keeping their teams in position. Finally, late in the third, Brock got the all-important insurance goal when Rebekah Feld beat Spooner to double the Badger's lead. With 1:22 left, Cassidy Maplethorpe iced it with an empty net goal, sealing the 3-0 victory for the Badgers.
