The Windsor Lancers dominated the Laurier Golden Hawks Sunday to earn a 1-0 victory and back-to-back wins to sweep the weekend series.

With the win against the first place Golden Hawks, the Lancers move to 3-2-2 in the OUA west division standings while the Golden Hawks now hold a 4-2-2 record.

GAME FLOW:
The blue and gold went into the game ready for the Golden Hawks to put on the pressure and were hungry for another win to keep the streak rolling from Friday. Goaltender
Lauren Gellner was at the top of her game and kept moving to prevent any shots on goal out of the net by Laurier.Â

In the final seconds of the first half,
Alexa Mognon accepted a pass from
Emma Beaulieu and fired the ball past Laurier goalkeeper Jyanessa Sealy to give the Lancers the lead. Through the second half of the game, the Golden Hawks continued to push the pace and try to find openings, but the Lancer defense stood their ground and capped off the weekend sweep.

The Lancers head up to London to play against the Western Mustangs on Wednesday, October 27th at 5pm. They return home for their final game of the regular season on Sunday, October 31st at 2:00pm against the Mustangs. Prior to the game they will honour their graduating seniors.
