Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the 2021 University of Windsor Invitational High School Basketball Tournament has postponed until December 2022.
 
This is the second consecutive year that the tournament has been cancelled due to the pandemic.
 
"We are very disappointed to cancel this year's tournament for the second straight year," said Lancer men's basketball head coach Chris Cheng. "Beyond our committee, there are teams locally and across the province that look forward to our event each year."
 
Despite the disappointment of having the cancel this year's tournament, the tournament committee is proud to announce that the plans for the 2022 tournament. From December 9-11, 2022, an expanded field of 16 of the best high school and prep teams in Ontario will gather in the new Lancer Centre to compete for the championship.
 
"When we return in 2022, this event promises to be a special one," said Cheng. "We will make up for the loss from the past two years by organizing a great event for all participants and spectators."
