GAME FLO
The first breakthrough of the game came late with both teams scoreless midway the first half. There was a close strike by Guelph's Mitchell Lefebvre that went past the left post but both teams were still pushing to strike a goal. The Lancers and the Gryphons were looking to make a break after the first half with a tie of 0-0.
Â
The second half opened similar to the first as both teams struggled to move the ball. Gryphon keeper, Svyatoslav Artemenko was put to the task and made a big save in the 67th minute. With time quickly running out, both squads were holding on tight not giving an inch to one another but desperate to score a goal. In the 80th minute, the Gryphons finally got the break they were looking for when Alex Zis passed the ball to Gray Yates and he scored his first goal at home. The late goal gave the Gryphons the 1-0 advantage over the blue and gold. Unfortunately, Windsor's offense struggled to attack and create opportunities late in the game, falling short 1-0.
