The Lancer men's soccer team clashed with the Brock Badgers in an exciting affair on Friday night in St. Catharine's. An early goal gave the Badgers the edge in this game, which led to a 2-0 win for the hosts.
 
However, the Lancers will have a chance to avenge this loss when they have a rematch against Brock this Sunday at Alumni Field.
 
STATS
Brock was able to put 10 of their 15 shots on goal against the Lancers this week, however, great goalkeeper play by Brandon Gaudreau helped the Lancers stay in it. The Lancers were limited to four shots on goal, two of which came in the first half.
 
GAME FLOW
After twelve minutes of play, the Badgers were awarded a penalty shot a took a 1-0 lead. The rest of the first half saw the blue and gold get a few chances by way of Paul Di Meo and Ard Dieker. It was a hard-fought half with a total of twelve fouls being committed.
 
The Lancers came out strong in the second half with a Di Meo shot that was just saved by Badger goaltender Alexander May. Late in the second half, Tanner Page had a great shot that was saved due to defensive effort. Brock would score a late goal to make the game 2-0.
