For the second game of the home-and-home series, the Lancer women's hockey team faced the Western Mustangs at the Thompson Arena on Saturday night and earned a hard fought 4-1 win to improve their winning streak to seven straight games.

Windsor's Jaden Cherry would put on a strong display with two goals while both Jessica Gribbon and Keana McKibbin each contributed a goal. Goaltender Kristen Swiatoschik was able to stop 30 goals to keep the Mustangs out of the net and play a key role in the Lancer victory.
 
GAME FLOW
The first half of the game saw the Lancers and the Mustangs with fair chances to get the first goal on the board. Gribbon broke the deadlock with four minutes left in the first period to get past Western goalie, Kaitlyn Booth. Later on, Gabrielle Lehoux would equalize the game on a Mustangs power play. After 20 minutes of play, the game was tied up 1-1.
 
In the second period, both teams struggled to generate a shot even with good puck movement. Assisted by Jack Latham and Jessica Legault, Cherry finally found the back of the net and put the Lancers up 2-1 heading into the final period.
 
On the attack in the third period, Keana McKibbin opened up the Lancer lead and put Windsor up by two just under four minutes into the period. To finish the game, Jaden Cherry would prove herself a strong opponent again and a shorthanded shot would get past Booth with no time to react and secured the Lancers 4-1 win.
