GAME FLOW
The first quarter was tight and remained a one point game until a three -pointer from
Najee Brown-Henderson started a domino effect of Lancer baskets and the blue and gold built a 10-point lead. The opening frame saw the blue and gold lead 30-23 over the Thunderwolves.
Â
Windsor went on a 9-0 run early in the second quarter, forcing Lakehead into a timeout. The break didn't do much to help the visitors as the Lancers ran away with the game, and a breakaway dunk by
Ziphion Grant put the hosts up 50-36 lead. With no shortage of confidence, the energy of the crowd helped the blue and gold carry a 57-45 lead into the locker room at the half.
Â
After the intermission, Windsor kept their foot on the gas as Ochu and Kennedy started the third quarter with a 5-point run. The Lancers thrived in all aspects of the game to keep their lead intact while the Thunderwolves put in the effort to trade a few points. With an increase in physicality between teams, back-to-back fouls would force the squads to regroup during a quick timeout. The blue and gold led 79-67 with one quarter to go, and carried their intensity through the final quarter to earn the win.
