The Lancer women's volleyball team traveled to St. Catharine's on Sunday to take on the Brock Badgers in the second game of a home-and-home series. The blue and gold played four hard-fought sets, but fell to the hosts 3-1 (25-27, 26-24, 22-25, 21-25).

Emma Shepard had a big day with 14 kills, three digs, and two blocks. Yalia Sealy had seven digs, and 8.5 total points.
Jordyn Brearley also put up a major performance for the Lancers with eight kills, four blocks, and a total of 10 points.

GAME FLOW
The Lancers started off hot, going up on the Badgers early. Brock would go on a four-point run to come within two points of the blue and gold, but the Lancers returned with a run of their own, forcing the Badgers to call a timeout. A monstrous spike by Emma Shepard put the Lancers ahead 16-10. Brock was able to turn the table on the Lancers, going on an 11-point run that would give them a slight lead. Nearing the end of the set, Windsor trailed by three 24-21 but put up two quick point to prolong the set and their comeback attempt. A Megan Gahmina score would tie the setup at 24. Tied again at 25 apiece, the set would have an intense 27-25 finish in favor of the Badgers.

To begin the second set, Jordyn Brearly spike gave the Lancers a three-point advantage over the Badgers. Windsor would go on to lead Brock for a majority of the second set. However, the Badgers would tie the set up at 17 after a big run. The final act of the second set was an incredible back and forth affair. The Lancers would hit 24, with the Badgers responding with a point of their own. This blow-for-blow finish would see the Lancers win 26-24.

The Badgers would create a 6-point lead over the blue and gold in the third but Windsor pressed hard for a comeback. Stellar play from Yalia Sealy,
Jenny Campbell, and Brearley would get the Lancers within striking distance of the Badgers. A stellar block tied the game at 22, but the Badgers were be able to pull ahead of Lancers, stopping down an incredible comeback attempt.

The fourth set was an important one for both sides and showed throughout the play. The back-and-forth display late in the third continued for much of the set. The Badgers would pull away late in the frame, but the Lancers weren't done fighting. Windsor went on a 5-point run, making the game 24-21. However, the Badgers would be able to pull off a win.
