First year Lancer Mariame Dehkissia has been named to the OUA women's basketball all-rookie team, as announced the Ontario University Athletics Wednesday.
 
Dehkissia has been a consistent and impactful presence on the court since her arrival. In her first season with the blue and gold, the Sherbrooke, Quebec native started in all 16 games and led the team in points (151), and points per game (9.4). She was also third on the team in rebounds (72), and rebounds per game (4.5) while accumulating 12 steals and three blocks.
 
"Mariame adjusted well not only to the level of basketball at the U SPORTS level," said Lancer women's basketball head coach Chantal Vallee. "In just her first year she became our most consistent player on the floor and was also named one of our team captains. This recognition is very deserving for her hard work on the court and for the work she has done off the floor to help us feel that this was a fulfilling season."
