In game two of their weekend doubleheader, the Lancer women's basketball team defeated the host Lakehead Thunderwolves 70-60 in their final road game of the regular season.

Mariamme Dehkessia led the Lancers with 17 points and nine rebounds. Reine Ndome contributed 15 points and ten rebounds for the game's only double-double, while Julia Chariot and Harriet Carey each contributed ten points.
 
GAME FLOW
In the first half of the game the blue and gold came with the heat, hungry for another win. As Noor Bazzi put on a great performance the night before with multiple threes, she had some trouble getting them through the net to start the game. Reine Ndome had good instincts and was quick to go on the defense to make it hard for the Thunderwolves to get into the Windsor zone. Windsor looked to build upon their last game and use that momentum to pull ahead. At half time the blue and gold held a 2-point advantage, 30-28 heading into the break. 
 
The second half of the game gave the Lancers more time to build upon and pull ahead of the Thunderwolves. Julia Chiarot made good offensive efforts to become the first Lancer in the game to hit double digits in scoring points. Although the Thunderwolves battled back and forth, they were unable to catch up to the Lancers in the final minutes of the game and Windsor came out with another win of 70-60 over Lakehead.

Windsor will close out the regular season next week with a weekend doubleheader against the Algoma Thunderbirds. Game one is scheduled for Friday, March 11th at 6:00pm at the Dennis Fairall Fieldhouse. Tickets will be available for sale on Monday, March 7th, and the game can also be seen live at oua.tv.
