The Lancer women's volleyball team fell to the host Waterloo Warriors 3-0 (13-25, 21-25, 22-25) in the first round of the OUA playoffs Wednesday night on the road.
 
STATS
Emma Shepherd led the team with 17 kills, while Yaila Sealy had eight. Joey Hewick had 15 digs defensively while Brooke Davis had 12.
 
GAME FLOW
The game started off as a bit of a back and forth with the Warriors holding a slight lead throughout. Windsor gave up four crucial points in the middle of the set, and the hosts rode that wave to the end, taking the set 25-13.
 
The second set started off much different, with the Lancers going toe-to-toe with the Warriors as the game was tied at eight. Yalia Sealy and Brooke Davis were able to be consistent offensive players for the blue and gold, which contributed to the Lancers ability to keep the set an incredibly close affair. Windsor's hitting percentage skyrocketed in the second set as well, as both teams continued to trade points. The Warriors would pull ahead of the Lancers as the set came to an end, taking the set 25-21.
 
With the Lancers down two sets, their season all came down to this third set. Windsor would go down early against Waterloo. The Lancers started battling back against the Warriors, with Megan Gahima, Emma Shepard, and Sealy coming up big for the team. The Warriors were forced to take a timeout after the Lancers scored seven points and got within one point of the Warriors. Waterloo would end up pulling out a close win 25-22 to take the set and advance to the next round of the post season.
