For the first game of the home-and-home series, the Windsor Lancers travelled up to Hamilton to face the McMaster Marauders at the Ron Joyce Stadium, earning a 1-1 draw in the Friday night contest.
 
STATS
For the blue and gold, striker Kailyn Robertson scored her second goal of the season to help equalize the game and goaltender, Lauren Gellner made 5 massive saves.
 
The Marauders, Bryanna Caldwell got past Lauren Gellner to convert first in the game and goalkeeper Ali Mudie was able to prevent 9 shots on goal for the squad.
 
GAME FLOW
As the Lancers made their first appearance against the Marauders since August 31, 2019, the squad was excited to take the team on after coming off of a 1-0 win against Brock last weekend.
 
Although goalkeeper Ali Mudie stopped Alexa Megnon and Emma Beaulieu shots on goal, it set the pace for the blue and gold to control the ball on the offensive side. However, the Marauders got up on the board first with a shot by Bryanna Caldwell. From there, the Lancers worked hard to push the pace to try and get the equalizer. Windsor got on the board near the end of the first half, when Kailyn Robertson set herself up well to get past Mudie and keep Windsor in play. The teams were tied 1-1 at halftime.
 
Windsor and McMaster kept the energy high going back and forth up the pitch with increases in physicality as the Lancers got called for several yellow cards. Despite good efforts for either squad to breakthrough, the Marauders and Lancers drew a tie 1-1 at the end of regulation.
