For the second straight game, the Lancer women's soccer team took on the York Lions. Following a scoreless draw Friday night in Windsor, the Lancers dropped a close 1-0 game to the host Lions Sunday in Toronto.
Â
The loss moves the Lancers to 0-1-1 on the season, heading into their second week of competition.

GAME FLOW
The game started out slowly as both teams looked to feel each other out in the early stages of the game. York had an opportunity to take the lead early on with a free kick from 35-yards out but Windsor senior goaltender
Lauren Gellner made an incredible save to keep the score tied at zero.
Â
The Lions got on the board approximately ten minutes with a goal from Erica Di Matteo and went into the half with a 1-0 lead.
Â
The Lacers struggled to generate any offensive opportunities in the second half, and were unable to find the equalizer before the end of regulation.
Â
Gellner finished the game with eight saves in net.
