GAME FLOW
It was a close first set as the two squads traded points throughout the entire frame, until the Blues pulled away and took the set 25-20.
Â
Windsor started the second set on the right foot taking a quick 3-1 lead. However, the Blues rebounded and went on a 6-1 run forcing Lancer head coach
Lucas Hodgson to call a time out. The break worked and Windsor came out with a new focus, making clutch saves, and taking the set 25-18.
Â
Another back-and-forth battle ensued in the third until the Blues pulled away midway through the set, 18-14. Windsor, however, did not sit back and watch, outscoring the Blues 11-4 to close out the set 25-22.
Â
In the fourth, Murmann led the way for the Blues with nine kills as the visitors battled their way to a 25-22 win to tie the game and send it into a fifth and deciding set.
Â
The momentum the visitors saw at the end of the fourth continued into the fifth as they took a quick 3-0 lead over Windsor. A service error gave the Lancers their first point, before the Blues went on 5-1 run to extend their lead, and eventually take the set 15-9.
