GAME FLOW
Following Friday night's win over Guelph, the Lancers started the opening period with the confidence. After a high hit on McNamara, Windsor went on the power play, and shortly after, McNamara scored a powerplay marker with a shot past York's goalie, Cole Ceci and give Windsor an early 1-0 lead. On the run to respond, York made attempts to find an avenue but Torchia was able to cover up the puck. Windsor led 1-0 heading into the second period.

The second period saw the blue and gold start with the advantage after another hit on McNamara was called for a 10 minute misconduct. With the Lancers offense locked down, the squad made a team effort to prove to the Lions that they would defend their home territory. With a chance to draw even, York had the opportunity to push themselves forward on a powerplay but Windsor seemed to create better chances with attempts by Sean Olson and Robbie Burt. Cole Ceci could not react in time as Jaydon Fetter struck and added to the Lancer's score. In the last minute of the frame, Torchia made a huge save and the blue and gold held off the Lions long enough to stay up 2-0.

In the third period the Lancers continued to dominate control as they returned to the ice while the Lions were eager to close the gap. As tensions rose, the two teams battled on the ice, blasting shots from both sides. High up over the blocker side of Ceci, Olson grabbed his 7th goal of the campaign and made it a 3-0 lead. And less than a minute later, Keegan McMullen jumped out again for the Lancers to earn a 4-0 lead with 10 minutes left in regulation. The Lions showed they had not fully given up yet as Xavier Pouliot netted a shot past Torchia to cut the deficit to three. With just over 6 minutes to go, York made the decision to pull Cole Ceci out of the net and Windsor earned the opportunity to score again as Barrett Dachyshyn chucked the puck down the ice, putting the score at 5-1. The period came to an end with Windsor securing a 5-1 win to end the weekend on a high note at home.
