Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Lancers come up short against Mustangs

The Lancer men's basketball team commenced their season against the Western Mustangs in London on Tuesday. Despite a valiant effort, Windsor fell to Western with a final score of 81-87.

STATS
On the night, the Lancers shot 37.9% from the floor, and outrebounded Western 41-37. Eight players logged time on the floor for the blue and gold, with three scoring double-digit scores. Xavier Ochu gave a standout performance for the Lancers, tallying up an impressive 24 points. Daniel Cummings and Ziphion Grant were also key to the Lancer effort, earning 17 and 12 points, respectively.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The first quarter was an even affair with a pair of 19's flashing on the scoreboard. However, the Mustangs posed a challenge, outscoring Windsor 29-23 in the second quarter. Although teams exchanged baskets at each end of the court, a point-for-point battle would leave the Lancers unable to bridge the 6-point second-quarter gap lead by the Mustangs.
