In their final game before the holiday, the Lancer men's basketball team dropped a 96-71 decision to the visiting Western Mustangs on Saturday afternoon at the Toldo Lancer Centre.

With the loss, the blue and gold are 2-6 on the season heading into the break and sit in fifth place overall in the OUA west division.

Denzel Cummins was Windsor's leading scorer with 15 points.
Lorenzo Barbieri and
Xavier Ochu also hit double digits with 13 and 10 points, respectively.

Western's Aryan Sharma went 11-for-14 and scored a game high 29 points and seven rebounds.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The blue and gold struggled from the field right from the tip, as the Mustangs took an early lead that they never relinquished. Despite only shooting 35.8% in the game, compared to Western's 53.5%, the Lancers hit double digits with ten steals while Western only had five.

The game remained relatively close through three quarters, before the Mustangs exploded in the final ten minutes, outscoring the blue and gold 30-17 to earn the win.
