The Lancer women's hockey team closed out the first half of their regular season schedule with a pair of road losses on Friday and Saturday.

Windsor dropped a 2-1 decision to the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks on Friday and a 5-1 game to the Queen's Gaels on Saturday night.

With the losses, the Lancers are 5-0-3-7 on the season and sit in fourth place in the OUA west division.

FRIDAY STATS
Elizabeth Coleman scored the Lancers lone goal, while
Cadence Petitclerc made 30 saves in net.

HOW IT HAPPENED FRIDAY
The Lancers got on the board first with a goal from Coleman at 13:58 of the first period and held the lead heading into the second period.

The Ridgebacks' Julia Jackson came back to tie it up in the second period.
It continued to be a back-and-forth game for almost all of the third period, where both goaltenders made some amazing saves to keep the game tied up.Â

With only four minutes left in the third period Ontario Tech's
Katie Mikkelsen scored the game winning goal on a second hand effort to put the rebound into the net.

SATURDAY STATS
Holly Borrett had the start in net for the blue & gold, making 27 saves in the loss. Emma Tennant made 23 saves to earn the win for Queen's.

HOW IT HAPPENED SATURDAY
Windsor got on the board first again for the second straight game with a goal from
Elissa Benjamin at 11:54 of the opening period. Windsor made some great plays in the period, but Alyssa Reeves managed to tie up the game with just under 30 seconds remaining in the frame.

Queen's scored two quick goals in the first five minutes of the middle stanza and despite a number of chances by the blue and gold, Windsor went into the second intermission down 3-1.

The hosts added another two markers in the final period to secure a 5-1 win over the Lancers.
