The Windsor Lancer men's hockey team travelled to Thunder bay to battle the Lakehead Thunderwolves in Thursday night action, and fell to the hosts 6-2.

The game was rescheduled from it's original date back in November when the Lancers were unable to make the trip due to weather conditions.

Leading the offensive side for the Lancers would be
Keegan McMullen and
Sean Olson with one goal each while
Nathan Torchia went on to make 28 saves on the night.

GAME FLOW
The evening was a physical one as the Lancers and the Thunderwolves came out of the gates with high energy. After a solid few minutes of pressure in the Lakehead zone to begin the game, the home side began to push back against the blue and gold, culminating in the game's opening marker by Keighan Gerrie. As Windsor would look to respond,
Nic Pavia would attempt to get past Lakehead goaltender, Max Wright however, Wright would turn the puck aside. On a rush,
Keegan McMullen is able to light the lamp for the Lancers first goal with a backside shot to tie the game 1-1. Lakehead would receive another powerplay with 30 seconds to go and the Lancers would head into the second with a 1-1 tie.

To the start the second, the blue and gold stopped the Lakehead powerplay to keep the game tied. However, Lakehead's Ben Badalamenti would score at 4:12 of the period to put the hosts up2-1. Torchia made a number of key saves throughout the period, but the Thunderwolves would add another marker before the period was out to go up 3-1.

Less than a minute into the final frame,
Sean Olson showed fired a shot that landed directly behind Wright to make it a one goal game. The Thunderwolves would not be fazed and tallied about a second goal by Griffen Fox just 24 seconds later to retake the lead. The Thunderwolves would score two more goals before the end of regulation to take the win.
