The Lancer women's basketball team had their season cut short with a devastating 61-58 loss to the Brock Badgers in the first round of the OUA playoffs, Wednesday night at the Toldo Lancer Centre.
The game got off to an interesting start as a city wide power outage delayed the game for over an hour. Thankfully, the power was restored, and the game was able to get underway.

Harriet Carey led the Lancers with 14 points, while
Reine Ndome contributed 11.
The Badgers were led by Madalyn Weinert with 13 points and nine rebunds, and
Noor Bazzi chipped in 12.
GAME FLOW
In the first quarter, the Lancers came out strong and quickly doubled up on the Badgers 8-4. Their speed and shooting consistency continued as they continued to dominate the floor and lead 15-10 at the end of the frame.
At the end of the first, the Badgers began a slow comeback and continued that into the second, opening the quarter with a 7-0 run and taking a 17-15 lead. The Lancers began to struggle from the field and the visitors built on their score, leading 34-25 at the half.
The Lancers picked up the pace in the third quarter, bringing the game within one with 2:54 left in the quarter. The Badgers put up a few points late in the period as the hosts began struggling defensively, however, the blue and gold only trailed by a basket, 46-44 heading into the fourth.
Windsor came out firing on all cylinders in the fourth quarter and took the lead within a minute. The Badgers, however, did not give up and both teams played the remainder with an intensity that was not seem in the first thirty minutes of the contest.
Tied 58-58 with one minute to play, a missed shot from the Badgers led
Harriet Carey down the court. However, Brock managed to come back up the floor and hit a three to take the lead, 61-58. With 9.2 seconds on the clock,
Maggie Denys attempted a shot from the three but it was blocked by a Badgers defender, advancing the visitors to the OUA quarter-finals.
