The Windsor Lancer women's hockey team dropped a 3-0 decision to the visiting Guelph Gryphons at the Capri Pizzeria Recreation Complex in what was Game 2 of the best of three first round series of the McCaw Cup playoffs.
The series has now been tied at 1-1 with a necessary series deciding game to be played tomorrow afternoon in Guelph.

Kristen Swiatoschik who made 29 saves on 32 shots faced on the Windsor goal.
Guelph's offence saw goals from Maya Graham, Hannah Tait, and Jaime Magoffin. Magoffin also picked up an assist for a two-point game leading the charge for the Gryphons while Meaghan Chittick quietly assisted on two of the three Gryphon goals.
In addition to their offence, between the Guelph pipes Martina Fedel was flawless turning aside all 21 shots fired by the Lancers shooters to earn the huge series tying shutout.
GAME FLOW
Guelph opened the scoring at 12:16 of the first period when Graham found the back of the net from Chittick and Magoffin to go up 1-0 on the blue and gold.
The Lancers would trail the Gryphons down by one goal after the first twenty minutes of play.
The second period saw the Gryphons score some more as at 6:55 of the frame Tait notched her first of the post-season past Swiatoschik to extend the Guelph lead to 2-0.
Windsor could not find an answer to respond to the Gryphons offensive presence which continued to increase their efforts with an extra second period insurance marker later in the period at 16:47 when Magoffin scored to all but seal the deal heading into the dressing room after forty minutes of play up by a trio of goals.
The third period was a story of the goaltenders as neither Fedel nor Swiatoschik was beat meaning that Guelph was able to claim the victory with their 3-0 on the scoreboard which eventually resulted in the final score to knot the series up at 1-1 sending it back to Guelph tomorrow.
