The Windsor Lancer women's volleyball team lost 3-0 (15-25, 16-25, 17-25) to the Brock Badgers in OUA quarterfinal action Saturday afternoon. The Lancers had a tall task ahead of them, visiting the No. 2 ranked squad in the nation. The Lancers fought hard in Niagara, but ultimately came up short against the Badgers.

Jordyn Brearey was the best offensive option for the Lancers, recording eight points for Windsor. Brock's leading scorer was Madison Chimianti, who scored 10.

Nicole Woelk set up the Lancers nicely, picking up 24 assists on the day, leading the Lancers. The Badgers were paced by Sarah Rohr who had 31.

GAME FLOW
The Lancers opened the first set on high note, going up 2-0 on the Badgers. Brock answered with a 10-0 run to open the match up and force the Lancers to take a timeout. The blue and gold fought hard out of the timeout but struggled to maintain service heading trailing 15-7 midway through the set. Despite a late comeback attempt, the Lancers fell short, 25-15.

The second set was a tighter affair, with the Lancer sticking with the Badgers early. The Lancers were much more accurate in their offence, but struggled at the service line, forcing Windsor into a timeout, trailing 14-10. The Lancers again mounted a late comeback, led by
Aryn Markett, but the Badgers took the set, 25-16 and taking a 2-0 lead on Windsor.

In the third the Lancers matched the Badgers blow-for-blow early on. Four different Lancers scored to open the set, tied at 4-4 early. The Badgers then opened the set up with a 3-0 run. Afterwards, the Lancers came close, but just couldn't close the gap, dropping the set 25-17, and the match 3-0.
