Game Recap: Men's Hockey |

Lancers' season ends with loss to Alberta

The Lancer men's hockey season came to an end Friday afternoon following their quarter-final game at the Cavendish Cup U SPORTS championships in Charlottetown, PEI. The blue and gold lost a tough 7-0 game to the No. 5 seed Alberta Golden Bears.

Windsor found themselves down early when the Bears got on the board just 39 seconds into the contest. On the very next play, Windsor had another stroke of bad luck when they were handed a five-minute head contact penalty. The Bears used the five-minute man advantage to score three more goals and take a 4-0 lead heading into the first intermission.

The Lancers settled down in the second period but were unable to solve Alberta netminder Ethan Kruger. The Bears scored two additional goals within the first two minutes of the next two periods and then added their fifth power play goal midway through the final frame.

The blue and gold would like to thank their fans, supporters, family, and friends for their support throughout the 2022-23 season. Please stay tuned to goLancers.ca and @WindsorLancers on social media for updates on the Lancer hockey throughout the off season.
